Aster Earrings

Aster Earrings Picta Collection - Lucida series, a one-of-a-kind piece. A pointed, layered design reminiscent of Chinese Asters, crafted using the hot enamel plique-à-jour technique. Plique-à-jour is a very special technique in which translucent enamel is set not onto silver, but into openings pierced through the silver — so when held to the light, the piece shows the same optical effect as stained glass. It's used in earrings rather than necklaces or rings, so that the stained-glass effect can be seen while worn. A similar piece can be made, but an exact replica is not possible. This is why every piece is unique. The Aster earrings create a different effect depending on the time of day.
